Curled up with a Good Book

When I was an undergraduate I took an English course at a neighboring college, as part of a five school exchange program. I read The Brothers Karamazov, Anna Karenina, The Stranger, as well as Magic Mountain and Ulyssus, and a few others. I remember buying the books at a local bookstore, and the owner saying most people wouldn't read these in a lifetime, let alone in one class. I loved Anna Karenina, and have reread it. I am a big Hemingway fan,and have read all of his work. I have read The Scarlet Letter a number of times. My children are Narnia fans, so I was able to reread some of the series a few times in the past years.
I love to read, but with school, pleasure reading has taken a back seat. I did just order a new book called, The Yellow Lighted Bookstore. It is a true store about owning and visiting bookstores throughout the world. And there isn't a cookbook that I've met that I didn't read.

I am so glad that you are an avid reader. After grad school, you will get the chance to read for pleasure again.
